Marcos orders DoTr: Resolve LRT 1 Cavite RoW
the President already instructed Public Works and Highways Secretary Giovanni Lopez to resolve the issue of ROW as soon as possible.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has already ordered the Department of Transportation (DoTr) to resolve the issue of right-of-way (RoW) that is hampering the construction of the Cavite Extension of the Light Rail Transit 1.
This was after Las Piñas City Representative Mark Anthony Santos questioned the delays of the P64.19 billion project over issues between the project and the C-5 Quirino Flyover in Las Piñas City.
In his letter to the President, the lawmaker insisted that the flyover obstructs the alignment of the LRT-1 extension.
Reacting to this, Castro said the President already instructed Public Works and Highways Secretary Giovanni Lopez to resolve the issue of RoW as soon as possible.
Government not cause of delay
The Palace spokesperson also maintained that the government is not the cause of the delay.
The LRT-1 Cavite Extension is a 11.7 kilometer railway project that extends the Manila LRT-1 southward from Baclaran to Cavite.
Once fully operational, it will cut travel times from Metro Manila to Cavite from 1.5 hours to roughly 25-30 minutes.
The Light Rail Manila Corporation earlier said the project is expected to be completed by 2031.
The project consists of three packages and is expected to add about 300,000 passengers to the daily LRT-1 ridership, bringing the total to 800,000, during the first year of full operations in 2031.
