Police in Pasay City seized around 300 grams of suspected shabu worth P2.04 million and arrested two drug suspects, including a high-value target, in a buy-bust operation along Libertad and Taft Avenue. Authorities recovered multiple sachets of shabu, buy-bust money and a mobile phone, and are preparing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
A significant volume of illegal drugs was taken off circulation following a police operation in Pasay City on Thursday, 23 April, resulting in the seizure of approximately 300 grams of suspected shabu valued at P2,040,000 and the arrest of two drug personalities.
The operation was carried out at about 2:30 p.m. inside a commercial establishment along Libertad corner Taft Avenue, Barangay 92. Two individuals were arrested, including a listed high-value drug personality and a newly identified associate.
Operatives of the District Drug Enforcement Unit, Southern Police District, together with District Intelligence Division, Sub-Station 3 of Pasay City Police Station, and SDEU Pasay, conducted the buy-bust operation, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects during a controlled transaction.
Recovered from the suspects were multiple sachets of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, a mobile phone, and other items associated with the illegal activity.
The seized illegal drugs were properly marked and inventoried at the scene in accordance with standard procedures.
Authorities are preparing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act as the suspects remain under police custody pending inquest proceedings.
Investigators are also pursuing leads to determine whether the arrested individuals are connected to a broader distribution activity operating within the area.
