A total of 244 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Bahrain safely returned to the Philippines on Good Friday, 3 April, as repatriation efforts continue amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The Department of Migrant Workers said the OFWs and their families arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 aboard Gulf Air Flight 154 from Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Their return was facilitated by the DMW and the Department of Foreign Affairs, following President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure the safety and welfare of Filipinos affected by the crisis.

The group traveled overland from Bahrain to Saudi Arabia for three days before flying to Manila. Earlier, 10 OFWs from Lebanon arrived on 1 April via Turkish Air, while another 177 OFWs and 14 relatives from Kuwait reached the country on 2 April via Gulf Air, signaling continuing government evacuation efforts.
