Overseas voter registration in the Middle East will continue despite the ongoing conflict in the region, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Monday, 2 March.
In its announcement, Comelec said Philippine Foreign Posts will “remain operational for consular services, including overseas voter registration.”
Registration for the national elections resumed on 1 December 2025, and will run until 30 September 2027.
Comelec advised Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to “stay alert and keep updated on the current situation in their respective areas, be vigilant against misinformation or disinformation, and rely only on verified sources of information."
It further encouraged OFWs to follow advisories from the Department of Foreign Affairs, their respective embassies and consulates, and to contact help lines if in distress.
The Department of Foreign Affairs earlier reported that there are approximately 2.5 million Filipinos in the Middle East.
