It’s going to be a two-day of fun and action as the Department of Tourism (DoT) holds the 2nd Philippine Golf Convention (Golfcon) set on 14 and 15 March at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.

Golfcon chairman Jesse Guerrero encourages both amateur and professional golfers to drop by to check out various golf products and equipment from clubs to bags, balls, caps and even club memberships.

There will also be swinging booths were golfers can analyze and correct their swings that will improve their game that will lower their handicaps.

“What we want to invite in the Golfcon are not just the golfers, but non-golfers as well. You want to learn about golf? Then, we can introduce you to coaches and golf courses where you can play,” said Guerrero during the press launch organized by the DoT under the leadership of Secretary Christina Frasco.

“Anybody can take up the sport professionally or as a hobby. Access to golf now has been easier than ever.”

Prior to the biggest golf convention in the country, the DoT will organize an invitational event that would be held on 12 and 13 March at the historic Club Intramuros Golf Club.

“It was supposed to be a one-day affair. But since a lot of players have expressed willingness to join, we added another day, March 12,” added Guerrero, who presided over the news briefing with DoT director for golf tourism and special projects Lyle Fernando Uy.

“I am encouraging everybody to join the event, which is unique since it’s night golf.”

Uy said they are rolling out the event upon the marching order of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. of boosting the country’s sports tourism program.
