Subic Bay Freeport — Around 1,500 beneficiaries, including 300 employees of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, availed themselves of free government services during the Lab for All event led by First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center on 24 February 2026.
According to SBMA Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño, the activity covered beneficiaries from nearby local government units.
“This LAB FOR ALL event here will actually cover some 1,500 beneficiaries – 1,200 of whom come from our eight neighboring LGUs – Olongapo, Subic town, San Antonio, San Marcelino, Castillejos, Morong, Hermosa, and Dinalupihan,” Aliño said.
Aliño welcomed the First Lady, along with officials from national government agencies and the provinces of Central Luzon, upon their arrival at the SBECC.
Department of Health Secretary Dr. Teodoro “Ted” Herbosa and Public Attorney’s Office Chief Persida Rueda-Acosta assisted the First Lady during her rounds at the venue, where beneficiaries received free medical consultations, diagnostic and laboratory examinations, dental services and minor surgical procedures. Residents of Zambales and Bataan were among those served.
Aliño noted that the participating LGUs are the same areas that receive revenue shares from SBMA to augment their funds for calamity response, health and safety, peace and order, livelihood generation, education, tourism, infrastructure and social services.
“Our investors also source out their workers from Olongapo, and the provinces of Zambales, and Bataan. In fact, almost 73 percent of the Freeport’s total workforce – which by the way now stand at 171,653 as of end 2025 – come from these areas. Likewise, do the majority of SBMA employees,” he said.
Present during the event were Zambales Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane Jr., represented by Board Member Rundy Ebdane; Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda; Bataan Governor Joet Garcia; and mayors from the three provinces.
Government agencies that provided services included the Department of Health, PhilHealth, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Food and Drug Administration, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and participating local government units.
