As February draws to a close, love is still very much in the air inside the Philippine National Police (PNP). Four police couples began a new chapter of their lives as they exchanged vows in a mass wedding ceremony held over the weekend at the Saint Michael the Archangel Chapel in Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr., Bacolod City.

The sacred union was officiated by Jaime C. Seriña III, director of the PNP Chaplain Service, and witnessed by police leadership, personnel, families, and friends, underscoring the organization’s commitment to the well-being of its members and the values that sustain public service.

At the national level, the PNP, under Chief PNP P/Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., said initiatives like this are more than symbolic. They form part of the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly under Morale and Welfare, which recognizes that strong families are the foundation of strong police officers.

Nartatez extended his congratulations to the newlyweds.

“Habang ginagampanan ng ating mga pulis ang tungkulin sa bayan, mahalaga na pinapalakas din natin ang kanilang pundasyon sa tahanan. Ang masayang pamilya ay nagbibigay ng lakas at inspirasyon upang maglingkod nang buong puso at may paninindigan,” Nartatez said.

(“While our police perform their duties to the nation, it is important to strengthen their foundation at home. A happy family provides strength and inspiration to serve wholeheartedly and with integrity.”)

He also emphasized that marriage is not only a personal milestone but a partnership grounded in responsibility and mutual support, values that mirror the discipline and integrity expected of every police officer.

“This ceremony reminds us that behind every badge is a human story—of love, sacrifice, and commitment. When we take care of our personnel and their families, we strengthen the entire organization,” Nartatez said.

As the four couples step forward together, they do so with the blessing of their families and the full support of the organization they serve. Their vows are a reminder that even in a profession defined by duty and sacrifice, love remains a steady source of strength.

In the end, building stronger police families helps build safer communities, true to the guiding principle of the organization: Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
