The Masa-Sara Duterte Alliance (MASADA) will relaunch a nationwide campaign to rally more than 32 million Filipinos to renew their support for Sara Duterte in the 2028 presidential election.

MASADA convenor Benito Ranque said the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte, the ICC trial of former president Rodrigo Duterte, and ongoing flood control issues will be brought to the grassroots level to consolidate support from the 32 million Filipinos who voted for Sara in the 2022 elections.

“Impeachment, ICC, and flood control will be the political battle cry,” he said.

The impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte has sealed the breakup of the so-called Marcos-Duterte alliance that began during the 2016 presidential election.

Ranque said over 100 political supporters from across the country will converge in Tagum City for the relaunch of the Masa-Sara Duterte Alliance (MASADA).

He explained that the reactivated MASADA is now formally called the Masa-Sara Duterte Alliance.

The crusade was initially called the Mayor Sara Duterte Alliance, urging then Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte to run for president in the 2022 election.

It was later changed to the Marcos-Sara Duterte Alliance (MASADA), which launched a campaign to unite the so-called Solid North and Solid South in support of a Marcos-Duterte tandem in the presidential race.

The movement aimed to strengthen political alliances nationwide, rallying behind Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for president and Sara Duterte for vice president.

The campaign urging Mayor Sara to run concluded in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, in November 2021, marking the final push before the elections.

“We have achieved our objective. Mayor Sara has heeded the call of the people to join the 2022 election for the continuity of gains attained by her father, President Duterte,” Ranque said.

The campaign, which began in Davao City in November 2021, expanded to key cities and towns across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

In the Ilocos region, MASADA’s efforts were met with enthusiastic support from Duterte loyalists, who gathered in Laoag City to welcome the team. The group also conducted food ministries in Isabela, Cagayan, and the provinces of Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte.

However, despite its early influence, MASADA’s role diminished after the 2022 elections. When Bongbong Marcos won the presidency, the group was left out of the political equation — a development that has now become part of history.
