A nine-year-old leukemia survivor from Iligan City has expressed gratitude to Senator Christopher “Bong” Go for extending financial assistance that helped cover hospital expenses during his battle with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL).

Keiran, who turned nine on 27 January, underwent treatment at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City after being diagnosed with APL. With medical bills mounting, his family sought financial support to help settle their hospital account.

In a recorded video message, the young survivor thanked the senator for the help extended to their family.

“Hello, Senator Bong Go. Thank you very much for your help,” Keiran said in Filipino, speaking softly but clearly while looking into the camera.

The short clip showed the child appearing healthy and composed as he delivered his message.

According to Go, Keiran also prepared a drawing as a token of appreciation. The child’s mother later visited the Senate to personally hand over the artwork.

Holding up the drawing, the senator expressed his gratitude.

“Keiran made this. Thank you for remembering me, Keiran. What you did is beautiful,” Go said.

The lawmaker also asked about the child’s condition and was informed that Keiran had recovered and that his cancer was now at zero.

Upon hearing the news, Go offered a brief prayer. “Let us thank the Lord for the life He has given us. May his recovery continue. God bless you, Sir Keiran.”

Go emphasized that the assistance provided should not be seen as a personal favor.

“God bless everybody. Thank you. Please do not thank me,” he said, stressing that helping Filipinos is part of his responsibility as a public servant.

“It is my job to serve you,” the senator added.
