Pop star Chappel Roan leaves her agency Wasserman, led by Casey Wasserman, she announced through her Instagram Story today.
The pop star has officially cut ties with talent agency Wasserman Music — the company headed by entertainment executive Casey Wasserman — amid industry backlash over recently released documents linking Wasserman to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
Roan confirmed in an Instagram Story that “as of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman,” emphasizing that she holds her teams to “the highest standards” and will not stand by actions that conflict with her values.
In her statement, Roan said no artist, agent, or employee should defend or overlook behavior that “conflicts so deeply with our own moral values,” and stressed that artists deserve representation aligned with their safety, dignity, and ethics.
She also expressed respect and appreciation for the agents and staff who work hard for their clients, while noting her decision reflects her belief that “meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust.”
Roan’s departure follows the release of U.S. Department of Justice documents that included earlier communications involving Wasserman and Ghislaine Maxwell — an accomplice of convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein — sparking widespread scrutiny of the agency.
Wasserman has apologized, saying the exchanges occurred before Maxwell’s criminal activities were known, and he denies any personal or business relationship with Epstein.
Her exit comes as other artists and staff have also publicly distanced themselves from the agency, with several calling for Wasserman to step down or for a company rebrand amid the ongoing controversy.
