Police Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio reported that the police district had detained 34 individuals with its weekly “Warrant Day” operations on Friday.
The initiative to heighten police operations was initiated by the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) of the country’s chief policeman, Police Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr. and the Triple A Program of the Regional Director, National Capital Region Police Office, Police Major General, Anthony Aberin.
According to the report, the 34 criminals were classified and composed of seven of the top most wanted persons, nine other most wanted persons, and eighteen other wanted persons.
Three of the suspects arrested during the operations were made by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) of the city under Police Lieutenant Col. (PLTCOL) Edison Quano.
Alias “Pepe” and alias “Alex,” 67 years old, registered as the ninth and tenth most wanted persons, respectively, in the city were arrested on separate operations in the afternoon on the back of an Acts of Lasciviousness warrant issued by Branch 89 of the Regional Trial Court in Quezon City.
Earlier in the day, alias “Rustine,” 23 years old, was served a warrant for a pending rape case by RTC Branch 229 at his residence in Barangay Immaculate Concepcion.
PLTCOL Jose Luis Aguirre of the La Lloma Police Station 1 served an arrest warrant to an alias “Jhun Mark,” 20 years old, for a violation of the Comprehensive Drugs Act at his residence in Barangay Apolonio Samson.
Further investigation on Jhun Mark’s profile uncovered that he had prior involvement in different crimes dating back to 2015, 2017, and 2022, with his most recent infraction just this January with a case of light coercion.
The Anonas Police Station 9 arrested alias “Francis,” 44 years old, from Barangay Commonwealth with a pending warrant from RTC Branch 76 on a case of homicide. Later reports revealed that the suspect was a repeat offender, being arrested for the same crime in November of 2022.
Also in the release, SIlvio praised his officers for their continued dedication to enforcing the law and keeping the public out of harm’s way.
“Through initiative like Warrant Day, we send a strong message that Quezon City will remain a safe community and that those who violate the law will face justice,” he said.
