Ayala Corporation has alerted the public about fraudulent online accounts posing as Spinneys Philippines. The fake Facebook page (@spinneysphilippines2025) and Viber account (@spineysph) are reportedly using the Ayala name to promote a supposed investment scheme.
These unauthorized accounts are asking individuals to send money with promises of guaranteed returns.
Ayala Corporation emphasized that it is not connected to nor does it endorse these activities. The company stated that all official announcements are only made through its verified channels.
“Please refer to Ayala Corporation’s official website and authenticated social media pages for accurate information and updates,” the company advised.
Ayala also urged the public to remain vigilant, noting that scammers are increasingly exploiting the names of trusted organizations to attract victims.
Potential investors are advised to be cautious of offers that appear unusually lucrative or suspicious.
To recall, Ayala Corporation and Spinneys, the leading premium fresh food supermarket chain in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), have entered a strategic business venture to open stores in the Philippines.
Spinneys is owned by the Al Seer Group, a consumer holdings company which is part of a UAE-based group with business interests in industries such as food, retail, hospitality, shipyards, and construction, with a presence in over 20 countries.
Under its partnership with ACX Holdings, the retail arm of the Philippines’ Ayala Corp., Spinneys will launch 12 branches over the next four years, beginning the fourth quarter of 2026. The first two locations have been announced: UP Town Center in Quezon City and San Antonio Plaza Arcade in Makati.
Mariana Zobel de Ayala, managing director of Ayala Corp. and head of leasing and hospitality at Ayala Land had said that “the entry of Spinneys brings a new dimension to grocery shopping, expanding the range of choices available locally and further enriching our dynamic retail landscape.”
