To strengthen its mission of supporting Filipino scholars nationwide and advancing educational opportunities for future generations, the National University (NU) hosted its 3rd Founder’s Cup Golf Tournament last Friday at the Tagaytay Midlands Golf and Country Club.
The annual golf tradition, co-presented by McCoy, Boysen, Adidas and Gransportivo, united distinguished alumni, employees, media, institutional partners and benefactors to foster a community of shared purpose and camaraderie, further reflecting NU’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and social responsibility.
“More than a golf tournament, we once again championed this meaningful initiative, bringing together the biggest number of players and sponsors driven by NU’s commitment to education that works,” NU president and chief executive officer R. Renato Carlos Ermita Jr. said.
“Every swing supports more than 10,000 scholars to pursue their education and create lasting opportunities for the future.”
The ceremonial tee-off was led by Ermita, NU chairman of the board, Dr. Hans Sy, McCoy co-founder Harry van Helvoirt, and NU alumnus and DATEM founder Arnold De Asis.
Other notable attendees were government officials like Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez Sr., AGAP Partylist Rep. Nicanor Briones, showbiz personality Richard Yap, and NU alumni Dave and Patrick Yu.
Through initiatives such as the Founder’s Cup, NU continues to strengthen partnerships and mobilize resources in support of its mission to provide accessible, quality education and empower future generations of Filipino leaders.
