BAGUIO CITY — Baguio City is ready to welcome the 31st Flower Festival, or “Panagbenga” (Season of Bloom), with the opening parade set for Sunday, 1 February 2026, Acting Mayor Faustino Olowan said.
Olowan assured that all city departments are prepared for the event. The Baguio Police and other relevant agencies will hold a coordination meeting the day before the parade to ensure safety and security throughout the festivities.
Major roads in the Central Business District along the parade route will be closed, and Olowan asked for the patience of residents for any inconvenience. The city government is also working with barangay officials to open alternate routes to ease expected traffic congestion.
The acting mayor also appealed to both residents and visitors to be responsible with their garbage, encouraging them to take it home or to their accommodations if possible. While city sanitation personnel will be on hand, Olowan stressed that maintaining cleanliness is a shared responsibility.
For those who prefer to watch the parade from home, Olowan said it will be broadcast live on social media and other outlets.
Meanwhile, the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Inc. (BFFFI) reminded the public that it is the sole authority for any official transactions related to Panagbenga. The foundation warned that anyone else claiming to organize or manage the event is fraudulent and should be reported immediately.
BFFFI also announced that application forms for the assignment of space will be available from 4 to 6 February 2026, at the Session Road in Bloom Secretariat on the ground floor of the Baguio Conventions and Visitors Bureau building at Abad Santos Drive, Burnham Park. The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during those dates.
