Authorities have successfully intercepted a parcel containing suspected hybrid cannabis Kush at the Cargo Area, Clark Freeport Zone, on January 23, 2026.

The Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and Clark Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (CRK-IADITG) intercepted the said parcel worth P6,165,500.00 from California, USA.

According to PNP Acting Chief PLTGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., at around 8:00 AM on January 23, 2026, BOC examiners at Cargo Area, Clark Freeport Zone, Clarkfield, Mabalacat City, Pampanga, flagged a suspicious parcel during routine X-ray screening.

The CRK-IADITG, including personnel from the General Aviation Police Station (GenAv PS) AVSEU 3 and PDEA Clark, responded promptly.

Using a Narcotic Detection Dog (NDD), PDEA confirmed the presence of suspected illegal drugs, leading to a detailed examination and initial inventory at 11:30 AM.

The seized parcel, labeled under HAWB No. 887906634870 and declared as “Trekthread branded polyester Rug Runner Reversible,” contained one large cylinder-shaped cardboard with two small brown rug rolls and three large black plastic bags.

Each black bag held three large transparent plastic packs containing suspected hybrid cannabis Kush, with a total weight of 4,110 grams. Samples were taken by PDEA agents for confirmatory laboratory testing.

The parcel was shipped on January 14, 2026, by a sender from Lake Avenue, California, USA, and was consigned to a male private recipient at a residential address in Phase 1, Gulod Malaya, San Mateo, Rizal.

Witnesses to the inventory included a local Kagawad from Brgy. Dau, Mabalacat City, and members of the media. Following the examination, the parcel was resealed and returned to BOC custody. It was confiscated by PDEA CRK-IADITG pending the results of laboratory analysis.
