Makati Mayor Nancy Binay commended the Makati Police Department on Thursday for the recent resolution of several high-profile theft cases and ordered an intensification of patrols across the city’s financial district.
The mayor’s recognition follows a series of successful operations, including the recovery of an influencer’s iPhone 17 by Barangay Poblacion sub-station officers, the arrest of a notorious “salisi” theft suspect, and a high-speed pursuit that led to the apprehension of mobile phone thieves.
“I want to personally commend the quick action and relentless dedication of the Makati City Police,” Binay said.
“Their successful apprehension of the suspects is proof of our focused efforts on fighting crime,” she added.
During a courtesy call at Makati City Hall, Binay met with Police Chief Col. Pedro Alagano to discuss the city’s security landscape.
She also issued a direct order to Alagano to increase police visibility and patrols, particularly in commercial districts, transport hubs and high-traffic areas.
Binay stressed that as the country’s financial capital, Makati must remain a safe environment for residents, workers and visitors.
