Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso announced Wednesday that the city government will distribute P476.49 million in social allowances for senior citizens, solo parents and persons with disabilities starting next week.
The payouts, scheduled for 28 to 30 January, will benefit 282,040 residents and cover several months of back payments from 2025. During a Facebook livestream, Domagoso said the distribution settles arrears from September to December 2025 for solo parents and PWDs, and from October to December 2025 for senior citizens.
“We are reducing the overdue obligations,” Domagoso said, using the colloquialism “Judith” — a play on the phrase “due date” — to describe the late payments.
The mayor noted that more than P1.1 billion in total social support has been released since he assumed office on 30 June 2025.
