Ticketnet launches Google Wallet integration in the Philippines

Ticketnet has begun integrating Google Wallet into its ticketing platform, making digital ticket access more seamless for moviegoers, concert fans, and sports enthusiasts in the Philippines.

The move marks a key step for the country’s leading ticketing service as it pushes for more convenient and paperless ticketing solutions.

“We are glad to be one of the first services that will boast of Google Wallet integration,” said Irene Jose, chief operating officer of Uniprom. “This will mean easier access and more convenient ticketing for our customers. Now, there’s no need for physical tickets, just whip out your phone, have it scanned and you're ready to watch a movie, see your favorite artists perform in a concert, or even cheer for your sports teams!”

Under the integration, ticket buyers will see an “Add to Google Wallet” button when accessing their mobile tickets. With a single tap, users can store their cinema or event tickets directly in Google Wallet, allowing fast, secure, and hassle-free access on the day of the event.

Ticketnet said the feature further strengthens its commitment to convenience and reliability, as the integration taps directly into Google Wallet’s application programming interfaces (APIs). This allows tickets to be stored alongside users’ payment cards, IDs, and other digital passes.

“We’ve always believed in the power of technology to elevate our entertainment and sporting experiences. This is yet another proof that underscores our commitment to our customers,” Jose added.

Ticketnet was among the launch partners when Google Wallet officially rolled out in the Philippines last November. The local launch was attended by Uniprom officials, including Ticketnet general manager Karen Nicasio and Ticketnet systems administrations manager Marco Dimaculangan.

The company said the move aligns with global trends in entertainment and ticketing, where digital wallets are increasingly becoming a standard tool for accessing concerts, sporting events, and movie screenings.

“We are excited for you to try out this integration with Google Wallet. We know that this will simplify and change how you purchase and use your tickets and we’re excited to bring you more technological solutions to elevate these types of everyday experiences,” Jose said.
