A well-known contractor behind several major infrastructure projects has much to be proud of. Its reputation remains untainted, having chosen the national welfare over easy money.
According to a source familiar with one of the country’s leading engineering firms, the company was once offered millions of pesos in government funds to undertake bogus or outright ghost construction projects.
“But the company president stood his ground and refused the offer. For them, a clean and unblemished reputation is the only legacy they want to leave to Filipinos,” the source told Nosy Tarsee.
Unlike others willing to sell their souls to rake in dirty money from dirty deals, the firm’s owner said they did not need to do this. They could make money honestly, relying on their skills and integrity.
“They truly did not want to tarnish the legacy of their father (who founded the renowned builder). That is why we are proud of them,” the source added.
