The Quiapo Church released a traffic advisory on Sunday, 4 January, announcing road closure for the upcoming Traslacion or the Feast of Jesus Nazareno on 9 January.

In a Facebook post, the Church reminded motorists and devotees that the following roads will be temporarily closed until the Andas of the Jesus Nazareno passes:

  • From Independence Road to Katigbak Drive

  • Part of Roxas Boulevard and Padre Burgos

  • Ayala Bridge

  • Stretch of Carlos Palanca to Globo de Oro

  • Solano St. and Padilla St.

Meanwhile, P. Casal St. to Mendiola will remain closed to give way to emergency vehicles and other rescuers.

Devotees heading to the Quirino Grandstand may take the following roads:

  • Taft Avenue

  • Kalaw Avenue

  • Roxas Boulevard

For devotees who wish to follow the Traslacion procession, the Church advised them not to walk towards the procession, but rather walk with the back flow of the procession to avoid disruption.

Devotees may proceed via the following roads:

  • For those coming from the West, North, or España, they may proceed via Quezon Bridge, McArthur Bridge, and Jones Bridge towards Padre Burgos or Intramuros

  • For devotees coming from Road 10 in Tondo, they may proceed via M. Roxas Bridge or Delpan Bridge

  • For those coming from the North and East, they may proceed via Nagtahan Bridge or Mabini Bridge, exiting Otis or UN Avenue

Motorists are advised to avoid passing through the aforementioned areas heading to Quiapo from 8 January at 5:00 p.m.

Every year, millions of devotees flock to Quiapo Church to honor the Jesus Nazareno in hopes of having their prayers answered and receiving miracles.
