A predawn fire damaged a residential home in Barangay Sta. Rita, Olongapo City, early Sunday, drawing a quick response from local firefighters and briefly alarming residents in the area.
The fire broke out along Adelfa 2 on Filtration Road and was reported at around 4:51 a.m. Fire trucks from the Bureau of Fire Protection arrived shortly after, battling the blaze for more than 30 minutes before declaring it under control at 5:30 a.m. The house, built with a mix of concrete and light materials, sustained visible damage.
Barangay Sta. Rita sits in the eastern part of Olongapo City and is known for its closely spaced homes near industrial facilities, including filtration plants that give the road its name. Adelfa 2, a residential street within the area, is frequently cited in emergency calls to help responders quickly locate incidents. Photos released by the Olongapo Fire-Search and Rescue Team show sections of the house charred and partially collapsed, though no injuries were reported.
