The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will continue monitoring passenger volume at ports nationwide until Sunday.
In a radio interview, PCG Captain Noemie Guirao-Cayabyab said passenger numbers are expected to rise starting today and continue through the weekend.
Guirao-Cayabyab said areas with the highest number of monitored passengers remain Batangas, Iloilo, and Cebu.
“Wala talaga tayong paaalisin na barko na sosobra sa kanilang kapasidad. We will not allow excess passengers to be on board our vessels,” she said.
As of this writing, 5.1 million passengers have been recorded since 20 December 2025.
The PCG said it expects the number of passengers to reach 6 million by the end of the monitoring period.The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will continue monitoring the volume of passengers at ports nationwide until Sunday.
In a radio interview, PCG Captain Noemie Guirao-Cayabyab stated that passengers can expect a higher volume starting today and continuing until Sunday.
Guirao-Cayabyab said the areas with the highest number of monitored passengers remain the same. These include Batangas, Iloilo, and Cebu.

As of the moment, 5.1 million passengers have been recorded since 20 December.
The agency said it expects the number of passengers to reach 6 million by the end of the monitoring period.
