More Filipinos expressed disapproval of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s performance toward the end of the year, with 48 percent of respondents giving him a disapproval rating, according to the latest survey by Pulse Asia Research.

The survey was conducted from 12 to 15 December through face-to-face interviews among 1,200 representative adults aged 18 and above nationwide. It carries a margin of error of ±2.8 percentage points at the 95 percent confidence level. Subnational estimates for Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao have a higher margin of error of ±5.7 percentage points.

From September to December 2025, the President’s trust ratings remained largely unchanged nationwide. However, Pulse Asia noted a significant shift in Metro Manila, where Marcos’ indecision rating fell by 13 percentage points, while his distrust score increased by 17 percentage points.

Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte continued to register relatively strong trust levels. Her approval rating rose to 56 percent in December, up by one percentage point from September.

Although Duterte’s trust rating declined slightly from its September level, she still posted higher trust scores among respondents compared with President Marcos, the survey showed.
