The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 263 road crash cases after Christmas, seven percent lower compared with the same period in 2024.
Of the total, 224 involved individuals who were not wearing proper road safety gear, 193 were motorcycle-related crashes, and 31 involved drivers under the influence of alcohol.
The DOH also reported that two of the fatalities were motorcycle riders.
To prevent road crashes, the DOH advised the public to wear Department of Trade and Industry-approved helmets for motorcycle riders and seat belts for those driving four-wheel vehicles.
The agency also reminded motorists to avoid driving when exhausted or drunk, follow speed limits and road signs, and ensure they get seven to eight hours of sleep before driving.
