Veteran Filipino actor Bing Davao, beloved member of a storied showbiz family and respected figure in Philippine entertainment, passed away on 20 December at the age of 65 due to a cardiac attack, his family has confirmed to GMA News Online.
Bing was known for his memorable performances, appearing in projects such as Kalawang sa Bakal (1990), where he starred alongside Ricky Davao and Mark Gil; Felix Manalo (2015), portraying Arsenio De Guzman; Kahit Butas Ng Karayom... Papasukin Ko (1995) as Jake; Joe Pring: Homicide Manila Police (1989); Matinik na Kalaban; and Soltero (1984).
On television, Davao appeared in long-running Filipino programs including Maalaala Mo Kaya (1991–2019), Darna (2022–2023) as General Diaz, Ang Probinsyano (2016–2017) as Roderick Wang, and Pangako Sa 'Yo (2000–2002) as Lorenzo dela Merced.
He was the older brother of fellow veteran actor Ricky Davao, whose own remarkable legacy in Philippine cinema was widely celebrated.
