BI: Bondi Beach gunmen visited Phl before attack

The two alleged gunmen behind the Bondi Beach mass shooting briefly visited the Philippines last month, according to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Tuesday morning.

The two, identified as 50-year-old Sajid Akram and 24-year-old Naveed Akram, flew to the Philippines from Sydney on 1 November 2025, according to BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval.

The father and son went to Davao as their last destination in the Philippines before flying back to Australia on 28 November through a connecting flight.

During these trips, Sajid used an Indian passport, while Naveed utilized an Australian passport.

Sixteen people, including one of the gunmen, were killed in the shooting incident during the Jewish holiday celebration at Bondi Beach on Sunday.

Twenty-four people are still being monitored in hospitals, with three people in critical condition, while five others remain critical but are now stable.
