Bianca ends Q-Series run at T35

With her history of making noise in majors like the KPMG Women’s PGA, Filipino golf fans have every reason to stay optimistic about her 2026 campaign.

Bianca Pagdanganan, the 28-year-old Filipina pro, wrapped up her week at the 2025 LPGA Q-Series Final Qualifying Stage with a tie for 35th. She finished at 2-under (284 on rounds of 73-71-69-71) at RTJ Magnolia Grove in Mobile, Alabama.

The normally brutal marathon was shortened to 72 holes because of rain, but the stakes stayed the same: only the top 25 and ties would walk away with full LPGA Tour cards for 2026. Pagdanganan’s steady play kept her in the mix, but missing that top-25 cutoff means she’ll continue on the LPGA next year without the big priority boost she was chasing.

She came into Q-Series as a seasoned LPGA member looking to tighten up her status after a tough 2025 season marked by several missed cuts. Her strongest push came in round three, when a gritty 69 lifted her to T29 — just three shots off the magic number for full status.

That sparked real hope for a final-round climb. She delivered flashes of that trademark power and resilience on the Falls Course, but an even-par 71 left her a bit shy of the qualifying mark.

In the end, medalist Helen Briem and 31 players in total secured their LPGA cards.

Finishing T35 gives Pagdanganan Epson Tour membership and conditional access to LPGA events, but no upgraded priority for full-field starts. She’ll lean on her existing career points and past results to get into tournaments.

Still, the Arizona alumna from Quezon City has plenty to build on — her T26 at the Mexico Riviera Maya Open earlier this season proved she can contend when she finds her rhythm.

And with her history of making noise in majors like the KPMG Women’s PGA, Filipino golf fans have every reason to stay optimistic about her 2026 campaign.

After nearly six days of weather-delayed golf, 31 players earned LPGA Tour cards for 2026, a mix of incoming rookies and familiar veterans looking for a reset.

Leading the rookie class is Briem, who claimed medalist honors at 13-under. The 20-year-old German closed her week in Mobile with a 3-under final nine and secured her spot after finishing ninth on the 2025 LET Order of Merit.

Briem, who has already made three LPGA starts — including a T56 at the 2025 Amundi Evian Championship — now aims to follow the path of last year’s Q-Series medalist, Miyu Yamashita, who turned her breakthrough into Rookie of the Year honors and a major win.

Fellow German Polly Mack produced the round of the day, firing an 8-under 64 to race from outside the projected cut to safely inside the top 25. The 26-year-old, a Q-Series regular since 2021, said patience and experience carried her through another pressure-filled week.

Several LPGA veterans also punched their tickets back to the big tour. Major champion Hinako Shibuno hung on with an even-par round to finish exactly on the 5-under cutoff line, while Ryann O’Toole delivered a bogey-free 65 — seven birdies, no mistakes — to regain her card. O’Toole called the week “mentally and emotionally draining,” noting the cold, rain, and repeated early wake-ups that made the shortened event a physical grind.
