The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported an increase in approved maintenance organizations (AMOs) in 2025 during its annual AMO Conference with aviation maintenance stakeholders.
The meeting, held last Friday, covered regulatory updates and CAAP’s plans to strengthen surveillance and quality assurance in aircraft maintenance. CAAP Director General Lt. Gen. Raul Del Rosario said the growth of the aviation industry is driving demand for maintenance services, and the agency is updating regulations to keep pace.
Data from CAAP’s airworthiness department showed local AMOs rose from 104 to 108 with new approvals in Luzon, while foreign AMOs increased from 122 to 136.
In total, the number of AMOs reached 244, a 7.96 percent increase from last year.
AMOs are authorized to perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul work on aircraft and related components, a key factor in ensuring continued airworthiness for operators.
