The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Monday that it will continue improving its livelihood programs for persons with disabilities following favorable public perception in the latest Pulse Asia survey.

According to the Ulat ng Bayan Survey conducted by Pulse Asia Research Inc. from 27 to 30 September, 88 percent of Filipino adults support the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) for persons with disabilities.

Pulse Asia’s findings show that belief in the effectiveness of livelihood support for persons with disabilities ranges from 79 percent to 96 percent across geographic areas and from 88 percent to 90 percent across socioeconomic classes.

The Pulse Asia survey is a quarterly national research initiative that gathers data from a representative sample of 1,200 adults to assess public views on socioeconomic, political, and cultural issues, including poverty and hunger programs.
