Healthway Medical Network (HMN), the healthcare arm of AC Health, has launched the Healthway Cebu Velez General Hospital (HCVGH) amid an ongoing expansion in the Visayas region.

Formerly Cebu Velez General Hospital, the long-established institution has been modernized and aligned with HMN’s clinical and operational standards as part of its integration into the network.

“For many decades, the Velez name has stood for compassion, service, and excellence in healthcare and educatio. We are deeply honored to be part of this legacy and even more honored to help carry it forward,” AC Health chairman Fernando Zobel de Ayala said.

Strengthening HMN’s regional capacity

AC Health president and CEO Paolo Borromeo said the hospital strengthens the network’s regional capacity.

“By combining Velez’s deep roots in Cebu with HMN’s technology, standards, and operational expertise, we are bringing world-class care closer to families in the Visayas,” he said.

HMN currently operates a multi-specialty clinic and six corporate clinics in Cebu, with plans to open more facilities and pursue public–private partnerships with local governments.

The network also donated 1,000 Healthway Care Cards to the City of Cebu to support underserved residents with access to outpatient services and diagnostics.
