The Know Your North Film Festival is set to hold its film screening and awarding ceremony on 8 December 2025, at Newport Cinema in Pasay City, showcasing works that celebrate Filipino identity, culture, and heritage.
The festival, which features films centered on regional stories and narratives from Northern Philippines, aims to spark deeper public appreciation for local arts, indigenous knowledge, and environmental conservation through cinema. Organizers said the event highlights the power of film in shaping cultural understanding and preserving community narratives.
A major highlight of the program is a special conversation with National Artist for Independent Cinema Kidlat Tahimik, who will lead a discussion on Kapwa-Culture and the concept of the Indio-Genius — themes that have defined much of his work and advocacy. The talk is expected to draw artists, students, cultural workers, and cinephiles interested in exploring Filipino identity through indigenous and contemporary lenses.
The screening and awarding ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m., and admission to the event is free and open to the public.
