Bianca Pagdanganan and Dottie Ardina are in the field and ready to battle for their LPGA Tour futures — but Mother Nature had other ideas on opening day.
The first round of the Final Qualifying portion of the 2025 LPGA Qualifying Series was officially postponed on Thursday after Rules Officials deemed the course unplayable even before play could begin. Heavy moisture on key areas of the layout left conditions unsafe and unsuitable for championship play.
Officials spent the afternoon assessing the situation and, with improved drying expected overnight and into Friday, Round 1 is now scheduled to tee off at 8 a.m. CST.
The superintendent and rules officials will conduct another early-morning course check to ensure everything is ready before players head out.
Despite the disrupted start, tournament organizers remain committed to completing the full 90-hole marathon, which now pushes the event into Tuesday, 9 December. However, if more delays arise during the week, adjustments to the total number of holes are on the table.
For Pagdanganan and Ardina, the delay only heightens the anticipation.
Bianca enters the week with her trademark power, confident ball-striking, and recent strong play that has turned heads all season. Dottie, a seasoned campaigner, brings steadiness and experience — qualities that matter even more in a mentally grueling Q-Series format.
With two Filipinas in the mix and a long week ahead, fans have plenty to watch for as both players chase their LPGA dreams in Pinehurst.
