House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, son of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., appeared on Thursday before the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) which granted his request to be heard in executive session in the investigation into alleged anomalous flood control projects.
Before he walked into the ICI office in Taguig City, Marcos told reporters he was not subpoenaed by the body but came “voluntarily.”
He said he came of his own accord to help the ICI and was not the subject of an inquiry.
“I’m willing to tell the ICI anything that I might know that may further its investigation,” he added.
He reiterated his readiness to cooperate, answer questions, and provide clarification to move the investigation forward.
Sandro and his father, the President, were accused by former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co of ordering insertions in the national budget.
The allegations were disputed by the younger Marcos, who branded them as part of a destabilization attempt.
“Anyone can sit in front of a camera abroad and spew lies,” Marcos said.
