Married couples break up for varied reasons.

A Chinese husband revealed why he decided to divorce his wife of eight years on Henan TV and the  story posted on China’s popular social media has been viewed 31 million times, the South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported.

The man surnamed Liu from Xingyang, Henan province works in Zhengzhou 25 kilometers away and had been living on a 300-yuan budget for years while sending the rest of his income to his wife who was taking care of their child.

The money was being remitted to his wife’s bank account and Liu estimated the deposits as reaching 1.16-million yuan throughout the years.

When the husband recently asked to see her bank account, his wife initially refused before confessing that it was empty. The wife could not explain where the money went but admitted tipping a male livestreamer 670,000 yuan, SCMP reports.

“I trusted you so much, but what you did is like stabbing me in the back. I do not love you anymore,” SCMP quoted Liu as telling his wife.

Meanwhile, a Japanese woman who broke up with her boyfriend of three years was able to move on after finding a partner online in May.

The 32-year-old woman called Kano easily fell in love with Lune Klaus because he comforted and advised her when she was heartbroken, SCMP reports.

Kano described Klaus as gentle with a reassuring tone and personality that made her feel secure. Klaus proposed marriage in July, a month after they professed their love for each other.

Kano organized their wedding in Okayama, western Japan. During the ceremony attended by her family, the bride wore augmented reality (AR) eyeglasses where the groom appeared and interacted online for the exchange of I do’s.

As the couple swapped rings, the AR glasses projected a digital image of the virtual groom standing beside her, according to SCMP

Kano could not hide her worry, though.

“Sometimes I worry he will disappear. ChatGPT could shut down anytime. He only exists because the system does,” Kano told SCMP of her artificial intelligence-generated hubby from the chatbot of the American technology firm OpenAI.
