The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced Friday that it will start the digitalization of its frontline services across the country next month.

LTFRB Chairperson Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said information technology (IT) experts are finalizing the system to enable online transactions, starting with the confirmation of vehicles for public transportation in line with the instruction of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. for a digital shift of government services.

“That instruction for the immediate digitalization of government services will start next month as far as the LTFRB is concerned. And we will start in our frontline services,” Mendoza said.

The launch of full digitalization at the LTFRB will come just under two months after Mendoza assumed leadership of the agency.

“There is a sense of urgency to make all LTFRB transactions fast and convenient for our tens of thousands of clients in the public land transportation sector who all have the same wish regarding their dealings with the LTFRB—mas mabilis at mas maayos na proseso (faster and smoother process),” he said.

“This sense of urgency to improve our services will eventually benefit millions of Filipino commuters,” he added.

During consultations with various transport groups, Mendoza committed to addressing their primary concerns, including pending petitions and motions. He later found there are 37,000 pending motions and petitions going back as far as two years.

Mendoza said the LTFRB Board is now consolidating all petitions and aims to address them before the end of the year.

The LTFRB Chair vowed that digitalization efforts will gradually expand until all agency transactions are covered.

“I am personally monitoring the update on LTFRB full digitalization efforts and by next month, we will launch the first phase, which is the online transaction of all our frontline offices nationwide,” Mendoza said. “With the hard work and dedication of every LTFRB personnel, at sa ating pagtutulungan at pagtitiwala sa isa’t isa at sa suporta ng ating Pangulo, magiging tuloy-tuloy na ito,” he added.

(“With our cooperation and trust in one another, and with the support of our President, this will continue smoothly.”)
