LUBAO, Pampanga — One week, Lloyd Go conquered the mountains. The next, he mastered the plains.
Senator Christopher “Bong” Go’s Malasakit Team visited Dapa in Siargao Island and Surigao City on 14 November to provide livelihood support aimed at boosting the local economy of Surigao del Norte.
Working in coordination with local governments and the Department of Trade and Industry, the Malasakit Team distributed assistance to qualified micro-entrepreneurs through the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program, which the senator has long advocated for.
In a message, Go stressed the program’s role in community recovery.
“PPG is an example of how we can show concern and support for our countrymen affected by challenges,” Go said. “Your efforts do not only provide help to families and individuals, but also to communities needing to recover.”
The lawmaker’s team also provided food packs, shirts, pens, fans, and balls to 10 families at the local Negosyo Centers as the senator encouraged the recipients to focus on growth.
“Grow your business. When your business grows, bring the earnings to your families… it feels better when you’ve worked hard for your business and managed to grow it,” Go said.
A vocal supporter of local development, Go is also a co-author and co-sponsor of the Republic Act 11960, or the One Town, One Product Philippines Act.
He stressed that this law strengthens local businesses by extending necessary support to help them sustain operations and reach broader markets.
