Typhoon #UwanPH has exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), but parts of Northern Luzon will continue to experience stormy conditions, the state weather bureau PAGASA said Tuesday.
At 4 a.m., the center of Uwan was located 290 kilometers west-northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, outside the PAR. The typhoon carried maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center, with gusts of up to 150 km/h, moving northward at 15 km/h. Uwan exited the PAR around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday and is expected to recurve, possibly reentering the PAR near Taiwan on Wednesday evening.
PAGASA warned that the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan will continue to experience stormy weather on Tuesday. Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and the rest of Cagayan Valley will also see rains with gusty winds.
Western Visayas and other parts of Luzon are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the typhoon’s trough. Meanwhile, southern Luzon and Visayas may face moderate to strong winds and rough coastal waters, while Mindanao will experience lighter winds and calmer sea conditions.
