The local government of Quezon City has been inducted into the Hall of Fame by the Department of Finance–Bureau of Local Government Finance (DoF-BLGF) for its sustained excellence in fiscal management, after ranking first nationally in Locally Sourced Revenues (LSR) among all cities for five consecutive years, from Fiscal Year 2020 to 2024.
Mayor Joy Belmonte, City Treasurer Edgar Villanueva, and City Assessor Atty. Sherry Gonzalvo accepted the prestigious Hall of Fame Award for Outstanding Revenue Performance during the 38th Anniversary Celebration of the DoF-BLGF.
“We achieved this without raising or imposing additional taxes on the citizens,” Belmonte said. “This is a result of the trust and cooperation stemming from the fair and systematic governance at Quezon City Hall.”
For Fiscal Year 2024 alone, the city government recorded P28.8 billion in locally sourced revenues, derived from real property taxes, business taxes, other taxes, and non-tax revenues.
