In a bid to nurture new and seasoned golfers while promoting local tourism, BingoPlus threw its all-out support to the staging of the annual Leyte Liberation Golf Cup at the San Juanico Golf and Country Club in Tacloban City last 18 and 19 October.
The sponsorship has put BingoPlus into a position to elevate golf tournaments to new heights while bringing visibility and stability to the sport where Filipinos have good chances to excel.
BingoPlus’ involvement in the golf event was a fitting prelude to its sponsorship to the prestigious International Series Philippines, which was ruled by hometown hero Miguel Tabuena at the Sta. Elena Golf and Country Club in Sta. Rosa, Laguna from 23 to 26 October.
The annual Leyte Liberation Golf event is known to celebrate and pay tribute to the Leyte Gulf Landing that happened during World War II when American General Douglas McArthur fulfilled his promise of coming back to liberate the country from the Japanese.
In a tournament that showed sportsmanship and camaraderie, golfers enjoyed two days of competitive action, honoring a legacy of courage and liberation of the country.
Aside from the competitive spirit, the tournament also commemorated the historical significance and sportsmanship among golfers as they played through the course. True enough, the two-day event was more than just a tournament — it is a testament to BingoPlus’ commitment in helping the development of a new breed of stars.
