The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Monday reported a surge in outbound travel during the Undas 2025 long weekend, with around 68,000 passengers daily departing from international airports.
On Wednesday, the BI reported that from 27 October to 2 November, daily departures averaged 60,727, peaking on 30 October with 67,492 outbound passengers. On the evening of All Saints’ Day, 61,017 travelers left the country, while 51,060 arrivals were recorded the same day.
Consistent activity was also observed in inbound travel, with an average of 48,688 arrivals over the same period. The peak number of inbound travelers was recorded on All Souls’ Day, 2 November, at 55,303.
Immigration Commissioner Joel Viado said an “even greater increase in passenger traffic” may be expected as the Christmas season approaches.
BI reported that airport operations during the observance of Undas remained “smooth and coordinated,” with immigration personnel on “full alert” to manage heavy passenger flow.
In other developments, the bureau said new e-gates will also be installed soon to further streamline airport processing.
“The agency has begun the procurement of additional units, while the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) is likewise expected to acquire more to accommodate the growing passenger volume,” BI said.
