Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the world’s leading digital infrastructure company, has officially launched its operations in the Philippines, introducing Equinix Fabric®, Fabric Cloud Router, and Equinix Internet Access®—a suite of secure, high-speed interconnection services that give Philippine enterprises direct access to over 10,000 global network providers, cloud platforms, AI services, and businesses.
The move follows Equinix’s acquisition of three data centers in Manila, signaling its long-term investment in supporting the country’s fast-growing digital economy. The Philippines, now one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic markets, is projected to see a 15–20% expansion in its digital economy in 2025, driven by e-commerce growth, improved connectivity, and rapid AI adoption.
Through Equinix Fabric, local companies—particularly in the financial and network services sectors—can connect physical and virtual infrastructure globally, enabling scalable and secure growth across multiple markets. At the same time, international firms entering the Philippines can quickly deploy and expand their infrastructure within the country’s digital ecosystem.
Hosting both global and local carriers, Equinix Fabric enhances network resilience by allowing businesses to diversify providers and optimize performance. Its three new high-performance data centers — MN1, MN2, and MN3 — feature over 1,000 cabinets of capacity, designed to store and distribute latency-sensitive data closer to end-users.
Secretary Frederick D. Go, Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs, hailed the entry of Equinix as “a sign of growing confidence in the Philippines’ digital economy,” saying it “strengthens the country’s position as a key player in the regional data infrastructure landscape.”
Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda also welcomed the expansion, noting that it aligns with the government’s digital transformation goals. “By bringing world-class services to our shores, we are better positioned to empower businesses, government, and communities to fully participate in the digital economy,” he said.
Cyrus Adaggra, President of Asia-Pacific, Equinix, added that the Philippines is central to Southeast Asia’s digital future. “The introduction of our interconnection services will be a game changer in the Philippines, helping businesses digitize more quickly and paving the way for AI adoption,” he said.
Equinix now operates more than 270 data centers across 77 metros and 36 countries, including 64 facilities in Asia-Pacific. Its presence in the Philippines follows expansions in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
