Hotel Okura Manila is set to take diners on a culinary adventure with SAGA: A Wagyu Tasting Journey, a limited three-night event from 10 to 12 November at the Yawaragi Restaurant in Newport World Resorts. Guests will experience the luxurious taste of Saga Wagyu A5, a prized beef from Saga Prefecture on Japan’s Kyushu Island, celebrated for its delicate marbling and melt-in-your-mouth texture. The seven-course menu features six premium cuts, each thoughtfully paired with premium sake to enhance the flavors.
The event is a rare collaboration between four accomplished chefs, each bringing a unique touch to the table. Minoru Takashima, Executive Chef of Hotel Nikko Osaka, is known for his refined approach to Japanese cuisine and has prepared meals for His Majesty the Emperor Emeritus of Japan.
Keiichiro Fujino, Japanese Executive Chef of Yamazato at Hotel Okura Manila, draws on over 40 years of experience and elegantly interprets traditional kaiseki, blending simplicity and harmony in every dish. Ikuma Sato, Specialty Sushi Chef, adds a refreshing interlude with meticulously crafted sushi that highlights the natural character of each ingredient. Katsuji Kato, Specialty Teppan Chef, showcases precision and artistry on the teppan grill, transforming premium wagyu into creations that emphasize purity of flavor.
This SAGA tasting is not just a dinner but a celebration of Japanese culinary excellence. Diners can expect a harmonious blend of tradition, innovation, and artistry, making it a must-visit gastronomic event for food enthusiasts and wagyu aficionados alike.
