Fil-Am cager, actor, brand model Abed Green soars to greater heights

Rising actor-model Abed Green is one of the cast members in the upcoming drama movie Piring. He is also set to star in the soon-to-be-released comedy film Jackstone 5. 

Green co-starred in last year’s  movie, Slay Zone. The film is directed by Louie Ignacio and produced by Wide International Film Productions, introducing Queenay Mercado and Richard Armstrong with Maui Taylor, Rico Barrera, Lou Veloso, Hero Bautista, Paolo Rivero, Raul Morit, Yian Gabriel, Tabs Sumulong, Panteen Palanca and with special participation of Kim Atienza. Green also co-starred in the Joel Lamangan drama Fatherland that was shown last Holy Week in theaters nationwide.

Cornerstone artist Green was also one of the cast members of the GMA-7 comedy sitcom Open 24/7, top-billed by Kapuso stars Vic Sotto, Maja Salvador and Jose Manalo, and directed by JR Reyes. Green was one of the cast members of the GMA-7 primetime action drama Mga Batang Riles, top-billed by Kapuso stars Miguel Tanfelix, Anton Vinzon, Bruce Roeland, Kokoy De Santos and Raheel Bhyria; with Ronnie Rickets, Jay Manalo, Jeric Raval, Desire Del Valle, Roderick Paulate and Eva Darren. 

Born Abednego Martinez Green, on 18 October 1999 in Quezon City, Abed is a student-athlete, basketball player image model and actor. For his acting career, he already starred in a Viva Films movie and an online series. In 2021, he also landed a lead role in GMA 7’s Magpakailanman Christmas episode.  

The 5-foot-11 lad is currently enjoying playing basketball and shooting for various movie projects. “Green,” as he is fondly called in hardcourt circles in Bagobantay, Quezon City, Abed is popular among his ka-barangays (village neighbors) because of his skill and passion in the hardcourt. 

“Sa aming lugar, ‘pag naglalaro ka sa basketball court, sikat ka na (In our place, when you play at the basketball court, you’re already famous),” said Abed. 

His favorite Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player is “The Mighty Mouse” Jimmy Alapag while in the National Basketball Association (NBA), Abed likes Los Angeles Lakers and five-time NBA World champion Kobe “The Black Mamba” Bryant. 

A healthy mix of vegetables, fruits and meat keep him fit for the games that he play. Add to these is the daily exercise that helps his body for the extra practices in preparation for his games.
