Filinvest unveils energy-efficient
operations across properties

Property developer Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI) is strengthening its position as a leader in sustainable real estate through major energy-efficiency initiatives across its commercial and hospitality assets — starting with Festival Mall in Alabang and Quest Hotel Clark.

At Festival Mall, Filinvest is rolling out a state-of-the-art cooling system designed to reduce energy use by 36 percent in its initial phase, with full implementation expected to deliver even greater efficiency.

The new system will maintain indoor temperatures at a comfortable 23–24°C, improving customer experience while generating an estimated P56.9 million in annual electricity savings.

“Festival Mall’s new cooling system is a clear example of how we are future-proofing our assets through sustainable innovation,” said Tristan Las Marias, president and CEO of Filinvest Land, Inc. “This project reflects our unwavering commitment to delivering greener, more reliable, and more efficient spaces for our stakeholders, while reinforcing our role in shaping sustainable communities nationwide.”

The development sets a new benchmark for sustainable retail operations, aligning with Filinvest’s long-term plan to integrate low-carbon technologies across its nationwide portfolio.

Long-term efficiency for Quest Hotel Clark

Meanwhile, at Quest Hotel Clark, Filinvest’s joint venture with Philippine DCS Development Corporation (PDDC) has launched a 20-year Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) energy efficiency project with global energy leader ENGIE.

The partnership will overhaul the hotel’s cooling and hot water systems, targeting a 50 percent reduction in cooling energy use and avoiding around 7,400 tons of CO₂ emissions — equivalent to planting 56,000 trees.

“As the pioneer of large-scale district cooling system in the Philippines, PDDC is proud to be leading this transformation at Quest Hotel Clark,” said Engr. Jonathan Urbano, General Manager of PDDC. “This project not only demonstrates how advanced technology can deliver significant energy savings, but also how sustainability can be integrated into hospitality operations to create long-term value for businesses, communities, and the environment.”
