Double Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo qualified for the final of the men's floor exercise and vault in the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta.
The 25-year-old gymnast topped the vault with a total score of 14.750 and placed second in the floor exercise with 14.700 despite performing with a wrist injury before the tournament.
Joining Yulo in the final of the vault are Artur Davtyan of Armenia (14.566), Nazar Chepurnyi of Ukraine (14.316), Daniel Marinov of Russia (14.266), Tommaso Brugnami of Italy (14.249), Kazuki Minami of Japan (14.050), Russian Mukhammadzhon Iakubov (14.033) and Ondrej Kalney of the Czech Republic (13.933).
Paris Olympics bronze medalist and Filipino-British gymnast Jake Jarman (14.700), Kameron Nelson of the United States (14.300), Milad Karimi of Kazakhstan (14.133), Minami, (14.100), Krisztofer Meszaros of Hungary (13.966), Tikumporn Surintornta of Thailand (13.866) and Luke Whitehouse of Great Britain (13.866) will join Yulo.in the floor exercise final.
Yulo will vie for the gold in the floor exercise on Friday, 24 October and the vault on Saturday, 25 October.
He hopes to add more world titles after winning in 2019 in Germany and in 2021 in Japan.
The women's team, comprised of of Olympians Aleah Finnegan and Emma Malabuyo as well as Haylee Garcia and Elaiza Yulo, will begin their campaign in the world championships on Monday.
