‘The city has evolved into a thriving hub where education, business, culture and community life converge.’
Quezon City officials declared the local government prepared for potential threats posed by tropical storm "Ramil," despite no major flooding being reported as of Sunday.
Peachy de Leon, spokesperson for the Quezon City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO), said the city has been conducting pre-disaster risk assessments with local departments since Friday.
Preemptive evacuations have already been declared, with nine families from flood-prone areas currently housed in evacuation centers in Barangay Tatalon, District 4.
De Leon assured the public that evacuation centers are equipped with hot meals, clean water, and dry shelter, and are staffed by health personnel monitoring the welfare of evacuees.
