Malaysian low-cost carrier AirAsia Philippines is increasing flight frequencies on key domestic routes this month to accommodate higher passenger demand ahead of the long weekend for All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

The airline said Friday it is adding more flights on its busiest domestic routes this month, with Caticlan and Cebu seeing the biggest increases.

Manila to Caticlan flights

Flights between Manila and Caticlan will go up from 46 to 54 weekly, while Manila–Cebu services will rise from 47 to 56.

Additional frequencies are also being introduced for Iloilo, from 28 to 32; Tacloban, from 24 to 26; Tagbilaran, from 21 to 24; Puerto Princesa, from 20 to 21; Kalibo, from 17 to 19; and Cagayan de Oro, from 14 to 16.

“As one of the country’s busiest travel periods approaches, AirAsia is fully prepared to serve our kababayans who will be paying respect to their departed loved ones or spending quality time with family during the long weekend,” AirAsia Philippines president and CEO Capt. Suresh Bangah said.

Frequency upgrades

“These frequency upgrades are designed to offer more seats and flight options for our guests, ensuring a smooth and convenient travel experience,” he added.

The airline recorded an 83 percent load factor during the Undas season last year and expects even stronger demand this year.

To ensure smooth travel, AirAsia reminded passengers to plan trips early, check baggage allowances, complete online check-in through the AirAsia MOVE app, and arrive at the airport at least two hours before domestic flights.
