Magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Central Luzon

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvolcs) a 5.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in Cabangan in Zambales at 5:32 PM with a 100 kilometers depth recorded and after shocks are expected.

Another Earthquake struck the country on Saturday, 11 October, 2025 and this time in Luzon.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) a 5.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in Cabangan in Zambales at 5:32 PM  with a 100 kilometers depth recorded and after shocks are expected.

Instrumental intensity III was recorded in Zambales. Instrumental intensity III outside the area were also recorded including:Calumpit, Bulacan; San Fernando, La union; Guimba, Nueva Ecija; Bani, Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Santa Ignacia, Tarlac City, and Ramos, Tarlac; Botolan, Subic and San Marcelino, Zambales.

Several areas in Metro Manila have also felt its effect, a video from The Varsitarian of  University of Santo Tomas (UST) shows that students from Manila Campus evacuated.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) , aftershocks are expected.

The 5.0 magnitude earthquake followed the ‘doublet' of magnitude 7.4 - 6.3 earthquake which occurred in Manay, Davao Oriental, and 11 days after the 6.9 earthquake in Bogo City, Cebu.
