
The country’s best amateur golfers will converge at the Apo Golf & Country Club in Davao City for the Philippine Amateur Open Golf Championship 2025, set from 27 to 31 August.
Organized by the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) and part of the PLDT Group National Amateur Golf Tour, the prestigious event will also be recognized in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, giving Filipino players a chance to earn valuable international points.
The tournament will tee off with the official practice round on 26 August, followed by stroke play qualifying rounds on 27 and 28 August. The top qualifiers will advance to the match play rounds from 29 to 31 August, where the champions will be crowned.
The championship will feature two divisions based on the 15 July WHS Handicap Index:
Men’s Division: Handicap index of 8.0 and below
Ladies’ Division: Handicap index of 12.0 and below
With its challenging layout and storied history, Apo Golf is expected to provide a true test of skill for the country’s elite amateurs, as they battle not only for national glory but also for ranking points that could open doors to bigger international competitions.
