The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has provided needed assistance to communities in need through its Corporate Social Responsibility program.
On 31 July, PCSO general manager Melquiades Robles led a turnover ceremony at the agency’s main office in Mandaluyong City to deliver essential aid to the municipality of Sta. Cruz, Marinduque.
Mayor Marisa Red-Martinez accepted the donation, which included food packs with rice, canned goods, noodles and coffee, as well as rescue and emergency kits. The kits contained first-aid supplies, a blood pressure apparatus, oxygen tanks, stretchers and life jackets.
The aid is part of PCSO’s program to provide support and disaster preparedness to local governments.
Last 4 August, the PCSO also turned over medical devices and emergency rescue kits to Barangay Mamandil, Talavera, Nueva Ecija. PCSO assistant general manager for the Charity Sector Lauro Patiag handed over the equipment to barangay captain Roy Diamsay. The donation included oxygen tanks, trauma bags, search lights, radios, rescue ropes, stretchers, helmets, life jackets and 50 evacuation supply kits.
Meantime, PCSO director Imelda Papin on 7 August extended charity to the residents of Nampicuan, Nueva Ecija, through the distribution of ChariTimba, a food pack initiative. Food packs were distributed to senior citizens and people with disabilities.
Mayor Mario Lacurom expressed his gratitude, stating that the aid was a great relief for his constituents.
As a fourth-class municipality, Nampicuan is a priority area for the PCSO’s programs.
